Staff Changes at Gradient Analytics

July 14, 2014

Sabrient Systems announced today several staff changes in its subsidiary, Gradient Analytics.

Brent Miller, CFA, has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Gradient. Mr. Miller has been in charge of Gradient’s day-to-day operations since August 2011 and has served in various senior-level capacities since 2003. The move to President and COO is reflective of his significant operational role at the firm, his forensic accounting expertise, and his years of experience in guiding Gradient's research process.

Gradient co-founder Dr. Donn Vickrey has resigned his position as Director of Research to pursue new endeavors. "As one of Gradient’s co-founders, the company has been a very special part of my life for nearly two decades," said Dr. Vickrey. "I am particularly proud of the Earnings Quality team, which has proved successful, resilient and committed. I leave behind a very experienced group of analysts that I personally trained."

“We wish Dr. Vickrey well in his new endeavors,” said David Brown, Founder and Chairman of Sabrient. “The promotion of Mr. Miller and other changes in the Gradient staff will allow the firm to continue its leadership role in providing its academically rigorous, unbiased, objective insights into the forensic accounting and executive behavior of publicly traded companies.”

Nick Gibbons, CFE, will continue to serve as Gradient's Associate Director of Research, a role he has held since 2011. Mr. Gibbons has been with Gradient since 2004 and also serves as an adjunct professor of accounting at Thunderbird School of Global Management where he teaches financial statement analysis. Mr. Gibbons will continue to focus on developing idea generation methodologies for both domestic and international markets in addition to assisting Mr. Miller in guiding Gradient's research process. Together, Mr. Miller and Mr. Gibbons have over 20 years of experience at Gradient.

The Gradient analyst team is further bolstered by the recent addition of Michael Blasi, CFA, who has joined the Gradient team of experienced researchers. Mr. Blasi was formerly with forensic accounting research firm Voyant Advisors, where he held a senior level analyst role since 2008.
